Arthur Vern
Origin: Arthur was created all the way back in 1992 as the protagonist of the series “Arthur and George in Blexholm.” (Blexholm was the fictional bullshit name of the made-up world they ended up in a la Alice in Wonderland). In that series, he was always helping people, so it’s ironic that he is the antagonist in “Why Bother?”
Personality: In “Why Bother?” Arthur is a schemer and he enjoys antagonizing others (particularly Mac and Dewey). He and his brother George were once described as “such good little boys” because of how they always tried to help others; however, they ended up becoming constant targets for bullies. Arthur and George snapped and turned to a life of drugs and alcohol. Arthur and George dislike Mac and Dewey because they remind them of how they used to be. In a way, Arthur and George have turned into the same kind of people who once tormented them.
Hobbies: Aside from making the lives of others miserable, Arthur enjoys smoking weed, getting drunk, hanging out in strip clubs, and scamming others.
Appearance: Arthur wears a hat with Rastafarian colors because he believes that smoking weed is a “spiritual act” like the Rastas do (not so much because he is an ardent follower of the Rastafarian movement). He wears a gray shirt with the first letter of his name (which he stole from a thrift store). He is usually accompanied by his brother George who is usually stoned or drunk.
